Microsoft launched a security update for Office in December 2020. This contains an issue which affects Microsoft Access Database Engines and has subsequently caused issues for Tradebox users who have Microsoft Office installed on their PC.
The Microsoft update prevents the Access Database Engines writing data back to the Tradebox database. This prevents the service from rebooting and effectively stops Tradebox from performing any service tasks.
To resolve the issue please do the following:
- Open Task Manager and ensure all Tradebox processes are closed. These are:
- Tradebox V1.exe
- Tradebox_Service.exe
- Tradebox_Application_service. exe
- Then go to the Tradebox Installation Folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Tradebox\Tradebox and locate and run a file called AccessDatabaseEngine.exe.
- Allow this to program to be fully uninstalled and then run again to re-install
- Open Tradebox.
