CSV Channel Uploads
Where you've got a sales channel that imports from CSV, Tradebox can't upload directly to the marketplace. Many marketplaces can implement an update of stock levels from a CSV, so if you enable upload on this channel Tradebox will create a CSV file containing the online SKU and stock quantity, and output this either to a local folder or to an FTP location if you have one.
All other rules and settings for upload such as manual vs. automated and quantity overrides apply to the file that's generated; CSV channels will calculate and track a quantity to upload exactly the same as any other marketplace, it's merely the mechanism of getting the information from Tradebox to the marketplace that works differently.
Within the CSV sales channel, go to the Export File tab.
FTP Details (Optional)
Tradebox can upload the stock file to an FTP location on every cycle; this is normally to allow other systems to read the update stock levels automatically. Your FTP provider should give you the URL/address, as well as a username and password. This grants you access to your FTP location; you can normally see and download files by going to the location via a web browser. For tasks like moving files, creating directories and deleting old ones, you'll need to use FTP software like Filezilla.
If you wish Tradebox to upload the stock quantity file to an FTP server, input the Server URL, User Name and Password. These fields are all case-sensitive including the URL. If your file should go into a sub-directory on the FTP, include that in the filename after a forward slash e.g. ftp://myFTPserver/docs/StockUpload
The Filename is optional. If populated, Tradebox will use the same filename each time and the earlier instance of the file will be overwritten. Bear in mind if you're set to automatic upload, this may be as often as every minute and could cause some stock levels to be missed. Each stock upload CSV only ever contains products where the stock quantity has changed since the last upload. If you're specifying a filename, make sure to type the .csv suffix.
If you leave the filename unpopulated, Tradebox will use the default filename stockupload[timestamp].csv. Whether populated or unpopulated, the local Folder will always contain the files with their default filename; the local copy is created first and then renamed or not as part of the upload to FTP.
Export File Details
Folder: This is a local folder on your PC or Network, which must be set up for the stock upload to take place. We recommend setting up a folder solely for this purpose. (If it's on a network share, make sure the directory is created with permissions such that the Admin user account of Tradebox user PC will be able to write to it).
On each stock upload, Tradebox will create the file stockupload[timestamp].csv in this folder. It's perfectly fine to remove the CSV files from this folder once they're generated, and we recommend deleting old files from it periodically. To designate your folder, either type the path to the folder or use to browse.
Column Delimiter: Choose between comma delimited or tab delimited CSV.
Add Column Headers: By default, the file will be created without headers. Selecting this option will include them.
Add Sales Price: Tradebox can also include a price within the CSV file. This will be picked up from the product record either in Tradebox, or your linked accounts package.
