Preparation
Before you can create an integration between Tradebox and Bigcommerce you'll need your Bigcommerce API Credentials, click here for our guide to creating those.
Creating the Channel
Launch the New Sales Channel Wizard via Channels > New.
The wizard will take you through the necessary steps to create your channel. The options you choose during setup can be amended later by going to Channels and double-clicking the Bigcommerce channel to open it.
Enter a Name for the sales channel (max. 50 characters). This is a label purely for you to identify the channel and can be amended at any time. Choose your Site Currency from the dropdown.
On the second screen, enter a name for the Bigcommerce sales channel and select the currency the orders will download in; by default this is set to GBP. Only orders in the established currency will be downloaded.
Next, you'll need the file containing your Bigcommerce API credentials. If you haven't retrieved those yet you'll need to do that now. When you create the API credentials, Bigcommerce generates a text file that you should have saved to your PC. Click Get API Details from File... and a file browser will open. Browse to your file and click Open.
You should see the four API credential fields populate themselves. Click Next to continue.
Next, you'll choose which Bigcommerce orders are valid for download, based on their order status. Tradebox will automatically retrieve a list of all the order statuses available on Bigcommerce.
To make an order status valid for download, click in the Tradebox Status column and choose the corresponding status from the list of internal Tradebox statuses. Click Next to continue.
If there are statuses that you don't want Tradebox to download, or don't use on Bigcommerce, leave the Tradebox Status column blank.
The options on the final screen only apply if you're using standalone Tradebox stock control. If your stock control method is set to your accounts package or to none, these will be hidden and you can click Finish to complete the wizard.
For users who are set to Tradebox stock control, you'll see two further options:
- If you've already created your product list in Tradebox, tick Map Existing Product Records. This will create a mapping for any items on Bigcommerce where the SKUs are an exact match with the SKUs you've already created in Tradebox. If you have any SKUs that don't match, you'll need to create product mappings later.
- If you haven't built your product list yet and you want to use your Bigcommerce products as the master list of SKUs in Tradebox, tick Import Products From Inventory.
- If you haven't built your product list yet and don't want to use your Bigcommerce products as the master SKUs in Tradebox, leave both boxes unticked.
Click Finish to complete the wizard.
If you are connecting Tradebox to your accounts package, you will then be prompted to set up an accounts link. See our guides for accounts links connecting to Sage 50 or to Xero.
Once you've created your Bigcommerce channel, you can configure advanced settings inside the channel record, see the Channel Configuration guide for details.
