Preparation
Before setting up a Shopify channel in Tradebox, you will need to obtain your Shopify API credentials from your Shopify store. Please be aware that the Basic Shopify Plan has insufficient API permissions to use with Tradebox.
Creating the Sales Channel
From within the Channels module choose New to start the New Sales Channel Wizard and then choose Shopify API from the drop down list. Then select Next.
Enter a name for the Shopify Channel and select the currency the orders will download in; by default this is set to Pounds Sterling. Only orders in the established currency will be downloaded.
If you have orders in multiple currencies in Shopify you will need to create multiple channels in Tradebox configured for each currency.
Next enter your Shopify API Credentials into the corresponding API Connection Details fields.
Click Next.
The next page allows you to map your Shopify order statuses to Tradebox's internal order statuses. To retrieve the Shopify order statuses click on the arrow icon . Only map the order statuses that you wish to be downloaded from Shopify.
Shopify uses two status categories to manage orders; the payment status and the fulfilment status. Tradebox uses the payment status to determine whether an order should be downloaded.
Map the Shopify status of pending to the Tradebox status of Unpaid if you want Tradebox to download orders that have not been paid on Shopify.
Map the Shopify status of paid to the Tradebox status of Paid if you want Tradebox to download orders that have been paid on Shopify.
As and where Tradebox detects an order has a fulfilment status of Fulfilled, the payment status will still determine whether the order is downloaded or ignored. If downloaded though, it'll automatically be assigned a status of Despatched within Tradebox. Then select Next.
Following the statuses page, you will also be prompted to download your Shopify sources. This allows you to separate web orders from point of sale orders, for example. Click the to retrieve a list of your sources, and then tick the ones you want to download for this channel. Once you've selected your sources, click Next.
On the next page, you may see one of two screens, depending on your configuration:
Map Existing Product Records: If ticked, Tradebox will automatically create a mapping between existing product records in Tradebox and the product SKUs that are downloaded in the Shopify orders. Existing mappings can be amended and new mappings created at any time via Products > Mapping.
Import Product Records from Inventory: Tradebox can import product records directly from your Shopify inventory. This is an essential step if you plan to upload stock back to Shopify, but can also be done at a later stage via Products > Import.
Select Location to Use: This option appears if you have multiple locations set up on your Shopify store. If Tradebox is uploading stock levels to your site, only one location can be selected for stock to be adjusted on, so make your selection.
Select Finish.
If you are connecting Tradebox to your accounts package, you will then be prompted to set up an accounts link. For information on how to do that, see our guides for:

See the Channel Configuration article for more information on tweaking the channel integration settings once the sales channel setup wizard is complete.
