If you are running stock control from either Tradebox or your accounts package, Tradebox requires your product records to be set up within its own product list. If you're using Xero stock control, these must be imported from Xero. If your stock control is set to Tradebox but you have Xero accounts, importing from Xero is one of a number of options.
From within the Products screen, click on the Actions drop down and then select Import Products.
From the Source drop down menu choose Accounts. You can then choose which organisation you want to import from if you have multiple set up in Xero. If some or all of your product records are already set up in Tradebox, you can tick the box for Update Existing Records. This will bring across any changes that have been made to existing product records in Xero.
The rest of the options here don't apply to Xero and aren't available for you to select.
Click OK.
The products will be downloaded from Xero and appear in your Tradebox product list. This may take some time, depending on the number of product records you have on Xero.
Product Mapping and Uploading Stock
When products are imported from Xero, Tradebox will create a product mapping for each product that assumes the online SKUs match the Xero stock codes exactly. If that's not the case, you may want to import your mappings from a CSV. Product mapping also covers quantity multipliers, fixed quantity uploads, max quantity uploads and whether any products are excluded from upload, so even if your SKUs do match, you may still need to import it if you want to use these features. This is covered in more detail in our Product Mapping guide. As well as product mapping, there are a number of other steps you will need to go through to set up stock uploads, all of which are covered in our detailed guide.
